加方校长 Mr. David Brennick |
|
Mrs Diane Brennick |
I obtained a Master of Education degree in Literacy and finished my career as a consultant for Language Arts and teaching students at the university level in a teacher education and training program. My position here at the English School enables me to put into practice all I have learned over the years. |
Mrs.Corinna Turner |
I am from New Zealand. I have taught for 28 years, My qualifications enable me to teach in many subject areas. I have an honours degree in Zoology qualifying me for teaching in the sciences and I also have a post-graduate diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language. I have been a teacher in the Sino-Canadian program at this school since it began in 2009. I believe the program prepares the students more than adequately for study abroad and each student should feel secure in the knowledge that he/she is well prepared for the venture. |
Mr Chad Jones |
I’m Chad Jones, It was my impression before working for the Sino-Canadian program that many Chinese students have a strong interest and competency in mathematics and science. After working here, I can see this is true, and therefore my focus in this program is to teach these subjects with a perspective of analyzing and questioning. |
Miss Janna Day |
Each student’s individual learning is at the center of the Sino-Canadian program. Our students learn by doing, working with others, critiquing, questioning, and representing their learning in different, creative ways – students do not always These are the skills and experiences that will help students achieve success in the future, especially those students that hope to go study abroad! |
Mr.Tim Harris |
Hi, I am Tim Harris, a Mathematics and Physics teacher from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. After graduating with a degree in Mathematics and Physics from Carleton University, and an Education degree from Queen's University, I have been teaching second language English learners for the last four years. So I believe I bring a good combination of youth and experience to this wonderful program. With the students already having a very strong basis in mathematics from their Chinese curriculum in earlier years, I believe it is most important to work on their English proficiency and ability to excel in a western style classroom. I find with the unique combination of Chinese and Western teaching the students get in this program they are well prepared to excel in a Chinese or Western university by the time they finish the three year program. While not teaching my students I enjoy hiking, football, and sampling different Chinese foods. |
Miss Briana Maclellan |
Hi my name is Briana MacLellan, and I am from Nova Scotia, Canada. I have been educated within two of Nova Scotia’s well known universities, Mount Saint Vincent University and Acadia University. I am proud to be a teacher within the Sino-Canadian Program, where I am responsible for teaching grade 10 English, grade 11 English, geography 10 and global geography 12. This is my first year living and teaching abroad, and it has been one of the most amazing and rewarding experiences in my life to date. Watching students quickly progress and expand their knowledge within our English program since arriving in September (grade 10 students) has been unbelievable. Students have improved there English abilities in all areas - speaking, listening, reading and writing, and have gained confidence in their ability to speak in a non-native language. I believe that this program has been very successful at improving students English language skills, building upon their confidence, as well as preparing students for their futures. |
Ms. Alana Buchanan |
Hello, my name is Alana Buchanan and I am a teacher in the Sino-Canadian Program. I began teaching here in September 2012 and have been greatly enjoying my time in China ever since. In 2006, I graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Development Studies. After that, I received my Bachelor of Education degree from Saint Francis Xavier University. Living in China has offered amazing experiences to see the world and learn about many cultures. I am proud to be a part of the Sino-Canadian program and am impressed everyday by the students’ hard work and enthusiasm here at the English School. |
Mr. Craig Evely |
I’m Craig Evely and it is a pleasure to be a part of the Sino-Canadian program. This is my first year and it has been a great experience so far. I have taught in England and Canada before coming here so I am used to the international experience. My background is in Math and Science and I am teaching both subjects here at the English School. I received my undergraduate degree at Cape Breton University and my Education degree from Mount St. Vincent. |
Ms. Marlene McKinnon |
It was with excitement and great pleasure that I accepted a position with the Sino-Canadian Program. Teaching in US, Canada, Korea and Turkey has given me the various job experiences to be a tremendous asset to the Sino-Canadian school here in China. Student’s learning a new curriculum in their second language can be very challenging; however, extremely rewarding, which will be a big ‘plus’ if they go abroad to study. I am a Canadian who received her undergraduate degree in Canada; however, graduated with an Education Degree from the University of Maine, USA. |
Mr.Chris Nicholson |
I am new to teaching high school students. My background is in electromechanical engineering. I have been working in the manufacturing sector as a project manager for large-scale automation projects. I specialized in the design, build and installation of robotic assembly lines for automotive, pharmaceutical, silicon wafer and furniture customers. I am qualified to teach physics, math, science and technological design (mechanical, electrical controls and architectural). I look forward to the challenge of motivating young students in the midst of choosing their own career paths and am confident that the knowledge and expertise I possess will be of value to our school. I am an adept communicator and enjoy the continuous learning in my profession. Assisting others to resolve problems or learn a new subject, gives me the greatest satisfaction. I love the outdoors. Photography, camping, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, sailing, climbing and scuba diving are just a few of the things I like to do. I am very excited to be here. I look forward to exploring China while learning the language and the culture. This is an amazing country and people. |
