Today is the second day of the English Model United Nations. After three countries finished stating their position paper, the USA raised a motion for a five minutes un-moderated caucus to have a discussion on the working paper. Then, Yemen raised a motion for a 10 minutes moderated caucus which Yemen, Iraq, USA, Russia and China added in to the speakers’ list and gave wonderful speech.
Unfortunately, a crisis came up at 9:10. 36 passengers from China, Turkey, Egypt, India and France were hijacked by the Islamic terrorists near the border between France and Italy. 2 Indian tourists were released to India soon but 8 passengers from Iraq and 3 of the Chinese were killed. According to this crisis, majority of the countries hoped that the terrorists can give reasonable explanations.
At the press conference, journalist from Reuters asked USA: "As the biggest country in the world, the United States, why don't you take some justice measures to solve this crisis?”
The USA answered: "Our Draft Directive has listed the solutions on how to rescue the hostages and we believe that everyone has the right of liberty and security. We claimed that USA would provide financial support to the victims and we will show our condolence to the victims sincerely.
