Model United Nations | Second Day’s News
Today is the second day of the United Nation meeting. There were 6 moderated caucuses in tonight’s meeting, including Discussing the working paper 1.1 and 1.2; the position to Kyoto Protocol; the problem of industrial relocation; the green house effect and the specific measures and the relationship between economy and environment. Most of the countries agreed that reducing the carbon dioxide emissions is the highest priority. Countries are willing to cooperate and solve this problem.
When asked to the position to Kyoto Protocol, countries held different opinions. Developing countries such as India, they questioned the USA that why they quitted the Kyoto Protocol. Italy considered that the USA should set a good example. Canada maintained that they have paid lots but gained a little. The USA claimed that it is too hard for them to low so much of the emission of green house gasses because they should develop. The USA also questioned China,and China responded that although it’s not easy for them to decrease the green house gasses while developing the economy, but they have made effort to slow down the green house and carried out policies and laws.
When talking about the management of biodiversity decreasing, Spain declared that each country pay concentration on two points: resources and functions of system.
As to The green house effect and the specific measure, Denmark suggested that the car sharing should be improved.
China hopes that developed countries should take more responsibility on helping developing countries.
